The Careers Service has acquired a number of videos on career-related topics which should be useful to students. These vary in
quality, some being very good and others being somewhat dated. The videos are currently located in the Library - in the Short Loans
Collection or the Company Information area. They can be borrowed in the usual manner.
There are three main categories of videos:
- Selection Procedures
These cover all aspects of the selection procedure, from speculative CVs, application forms, cover letters, interviews and
assessment centres. Of particular value to students are the videos produced by AGCAS (Association of Graduate Careers Advisory
Services). There are 5 in total:
- Looking Good on Paper - on completing application forms
- Why Ask Me That? - on being interviewed
- Two Whole Days - on assessment centres
- Why Am I Here? - on how to identify and present your transferable skills
- Can I Have a Few Minutes of Your Time? - on networking to uncover the hidden job market. For further details,
