CoOp is a unique opportunity to get valuable experience of the working world. It also gives you the chance to develop some of the core skills that employers look for in graduates. As a compulsory part of your CoOp placement, you will be asked to set and measure your skills development during your CoOp using Pre and Post CoOp Assessment Forms, so that by the end of your placement you should be able to:

• Recognise the skills and knowledge you have developed through your CoOp experience.
• Identify gaps in your skills/knowledge and plan ahead to bridge these gaps.
• Provide a record of your work experience and skills as evidence for effective job applications and, in some instances, professional recognition.
