Mission

The aim is to provide research evidence concerning conflict and its resolution both in Ireland and in other countries throughout the world.  This evidence will contribute to an understanding of how conflicts develop and how they may be most effectively resolved.  Development and governance issues are also studied in regions which are emerging from poverty and/or conflict.

To this end, the Research Centre has links with academic institutions in Northern Ireland, Canada, America, Great Britain, Israel, Austria and Slovakia.  We are exploring ways in which we might work jointly towards a deeper understanding of conflict resolution and reconciliation and the development of programmes which can make a practical contribution to the resolution of conflict wherever it exists.
