Research Interests
Study of intercultural relations
My main research interest is the study of intercultural relations which has arisen from my academic and professional experience. This has been reflected in my novel Où vas-tu Irlande? which was an attempt to present to French readers the complexity of the situation in Northern Ireland through fictional characters. In addition, my MA thesis, Le roman des troubles et sa traduction en français (1969-1996), looked at the translation of novels on the Northern Irish troubles. Up to this point the only research available on this topic was based on the originals in English and not on their translations
Development of language learning
Within the Language Centre, I have participated in the implementation of phase one and two (March – June 2004) of a LINGUA-funded project (Opening the Door) which was co-ordinated by NUI Maynooth. This project was awarded a European Award.
