Current research projects
Northern Multilingualism (PI, Professor Sari Pietikäinen, University of Jyväskylä) funded by the Finnish Academy, 2008-2010. I am the post-doctoral fellow for this project and together with my department colleagues Helen Kelly Holmes and Aoife Lenhinahn am investigationg issues of multilingualism, authenticity and commercial discourses, particularly in relation to tourism.
3M Network: Identities in Motion: Multilingualism, Multiculturalism and Mobility in Nordic and Baltic Countries. The aim of the 3M network is to develop a new and innovative research platform for examining intertwined relations and tensions between identity, multilingualism and multiculturalism in Nordic and Baltic countries in an era of mobility.
