UL’s autumn open days held last October were again very successful. The Saturday event, in particular, proved very popular with students and parents alike. Over 9000 students from almost 250 schools around the country attended over both days, to get a taste of what it’s really like to live and study here at the University of Limerick.
Given the fact that UL graduates have an 8% higher employment rate than graduates from any other Irish university, visiting students were eager to examine their course options and identify study opportunities here at UL.
Enthusiastic students chatted with experts from our courses, and engaged with our open days guides who shared their UL experiences.
Many departments ran interesting seminars, with various experiments, demonstrations and displays. The information stands were buzzing, with many students interested in finding out things like the entry requirements for their preferred UL course, and the type of careers open to them on completing the degree.
Campus tours were very popular, as many students hopped on the bus to view a typical student apartment in one of our five student villages.
Overall, the number of smiling faces around campus added to the positive feedback we received on the event.
Our 2012 open days will be held on Friday and Saturday, October 19th and 20th next.
Check back here in September for further information on the event.
