2008: Co-editing with Padraig Carmody (TCD) a special edition on the geographies of the Celtic Tiger of the journal Irish Geography.

 2007-07: Co-editing a book with Deiric Ó Broin on Irish civil society and the state, critically examining the state’s discourse on active citizenship and on social capital, tracing the history of state-civil society relations in Ireland since before independence, analysing the changing nature of state-civil society relations over the period of the Celtic Tiger and outlining the challenges that now lie ahead.  The book contains versions of papers given at a seminar series organised by NorDubCo in DCU in the autumn of 2007 and includes contributions by the editors, Brian Harvey, John Baker, Mary Murphy, Michael Cronin, Clare Farrell, Mark Garavan, Fred Powell and Martin Geoghegan, and Catherine Murray and Paul Rogers.

 2008: Writing with Mary Murphy a position paper on the Irish social model and the challenges facing the community and voluntary sector for the  Community Platform. An early version was presented at a seminar in Dublin in March 2008 and the paper is to be published by the Community Platform.

 2006-2007: Co-editing with Debbie Ging and Michael Cronin a book entitled ‘Transforming Ireland: Challenges, Critiques, Resources’ to be published by Manchester University Press in 2008. Contributors include John Walsh (NUI Galway), Roddy Flynn (DCU), Mary Murphy (NUI Maynooth), Gavan Titley (NUI Maynooth), Orla O’Donovan (UCC), Denis OSullivan (UCC), Piaras MacEinrí (UCC).
