I am an IRCSET-Marie Curie Research Fellow at the University of Limerick and the University of Oxford. I have previously held a postdoctoral position at the University of Limerick. I was born in Samara, Russia and received MSc in Applied Mathematics & Computer Science (2003, Nayanova University, Russia) and PhD in Physics (2008, University College Cork, Ireland).
Research Interests
Much of my present work focuses on cascade dynamics on complex networks, and on understanding the power and limitations of tree approximations of network topology in modeling these dynamics. I am also interested in bifurcation analysis of dynamical systems such as epidemic models, and in investigating properties of online social networks. My research involves analytical and numerical approaches to these problems. I also have a strong background in computer science and in dynamics of semiconductor lasers. My interests in network science, and in complex systems in general, are quite broad.
