4th UL Winter School in Social Science Research Methods

Eligibility, credits and costs

The Winter School is open to all social researchers. In case of high demand, however, preference will be given to ISSP scholars, followed by PhD students at ISSP-affiliated institutions, followed by PhD students at other institutions. Staff at ISSP-affiliated and other institutions are also welcome. Each stream has a cap of 20 participants.

The course is designed to be worth 10 ECTS credits, subject to prior reading and completion of assignments after the session. Such a high loading requires students to spend approximately one week on preparation and approximately three weeks working on the assignments after the winter school.

Participation will be free for research students of ISSP-affiliated institutions. The tuition fee for other participants will be €300, without assessment, and the standard University module link-in fee (approx €650) if ECTS-credited assessment is required. Participants will be responsible for their own accommodation and other costs.
