" Making a Geodesic Dome."

When making a geodesic dome you will need plenty of drinking straws and for the connections any of the following can be used.

• Glue.

Glue the two straws together, this way the joints will be rigid.

• Pipe cleaners or wire.

The pipe cleaner is fixed into either end of each straw. This type of joint is reasonably rigid as is the plasticine or clay method.

• Plasticine or clay.

Use a small ball of plasticine and fix the straws into it.

• A pin.

The pin method as the name suggests is where the the two straws are joined together with a pin, this allows movement of the joint. This type of joint is called a pin-joint.
