The Internet is an ideal medium for interactivity and animation. A well designed Website not only holds a students attention longer than any other classroom visual medium, it also advances their understanding of technology as they use it.
This project set out to demonstrate the potential of using the Internet to develop and encourage skills associated with technical graphics and other cognate subjects in a classroom. It also illustrates how the they can be incorporated into the design of an interactive, easy to navigate and educational Web site.
The development of HTML, in conjunction with the use of the Gif Construction Kit, to create animations, is discussed and developed as part of this project. The results, while not formally tested, would appear to meet all the criteria for visual stimuli directed at developing a range of graphic and visuo spatial abilities. Dynamic graphics are used with some interactive control and result in text been minimised to avoid distraction.
