Aims and Objectives.

Background to Interactive Internet.

I believe that the Internet is as yet to be used as a specific interactive medium in secondary schools in Ireland. What I hope to achieve in the course of this final year project, is to demonstrate the potential of the Internet as an interactive medium, and its value in the classroom. It is aimed at first year Technical Graphics students in Irish schools, with no prerequisite specific Orthographic knowledge, but it is usable by anyone wishing to improve their spatial intelligence.

Introduction to the Project.

The project is designed in a step by step format, much along the lines of a book. The difference however is the addition of the interactive perspective, and also the animation, adding clarity and interest to the topic.

This student can work through the topic at his/her own pace, stepping back if a particular section is not understood. There is a practical toolbar at the base of each page, with forward and backward links. There is also a 'Quikfind' index, because this project has more information than can be covered in one sitting. Therefore all the student has to do, is remember the step they left off from and they can easily jump back to that step.

The Aims of the Project.

The aims of the 'Interactive Internet' are:

  1. To provide a base for the Junior Certificate topic of Orthographic Projection.
  2. To develop the students spatial visualisation ability.
  3. To increase the students projection intelligence.
  4. To provide a method of teaching and guidance that is stimulating and interesting to the student.
  5. To further develop the students graphicacy knowledge.
  6. To produce a package that shows the possibilities of the internet as a medium for tuition.

The Objectives of the Project.

At the end of this project the students will
