All the views we have encountered so far have been looking straight in at the objects in question, this does not always have to be the case. There can also be the case where we look in at an angle other than 90º to sides or top of the object, here for example we look in along the diagonal of the table top. However we need a wall to show this view on, and this wall or 'plane' must also be 90º to the line we are looking in along (in green). In the previous examples you should have noticed that the planes have always been at 90º to our line of sight. This new plane is again vertical and it's also a plane, we call it the 'Auxillary Vertical Plane' or 'A.V.P.' for short.

In this view we can see the four legs, and we can see both the front and side of the table top edge. It is similar to the elevation in that we can see it's HEIGHT and the floor is seen as a red line, therefore we call this type of view an 'Auxillary Elevation'.
