Hurling Club News
The hurling Club would like to thank Murphy’s for their generous sponsorship.
We are all getting very fond of Murphy’s and Heiniken -some a little too
fond of it. It does make for good singers, but not on stools lads.
Anyway all hurling teams are still involved in all competitions.
The Seniors had a hard fought win over Mary I on Week 11. Although
the hurling was not up to scratch the spirit was burning brightly.
However there are one or two players who are not fully tuned in yet.
Tune in or tune out lads - there’s a new sheriff in town. I think all Hurlers,
particularly the Seniors and freshers, would agree with me in expressing
our gratitude to Ger Cunningham - a man who has kept the ship afloat. People
like him are too often taken for granted. We are also very
appreciative of the continued support of LENMAC.
While I’m in the mood for thanking people I’ll thank the Stables and
the Lodge who recently had to put up with the hurlers for a few drinking
and bad-singing sessions.
John Kelliher recently vacated his position as GAA development officer.
John did incredible work for us in his short time in the position.
He is deserving of a huge gratitude. His loss has left a huge gap.
Pat Curran is to be commended for the work he is currently doing in John’s
place.
The draw for the tickets is now on after Christmas. It’s important
that everyone sells as much as possible. Take advantage of the generous
nature of people over the holidays.
The Hurling Club would like to wish all its members and supporters
a very Happy Christmas and New Year. Good luck with the exams.
PS You’re all invited to the Round Bailers Ball (part 2)at
no. ????. (If you don’t know, you don’t need to).
