Where did the name come from?

Carved on our the University Stone: "And pluck till time and times are done The silver apples of the moon The golden apples of the sun." from the Song of Wandering Aengus by famous Irish poet, W.B. Yeats.

Also, 'silver apple' is mentioned in the Nursery Rhyme:

I had a little nut tree Nothing would it bear But a silver apple And a golden pear And, what is each child, if not "as precious as a piece of silver" and "the apple of a parent's eye".

Custom-built creche, officially opened January 2000. Built to Childcare regulations in Ireland. Happy relaxed atmosphere. Friendly, caring staff. Manager Ms. Mary Moloney. Outdoor playground.

Separate rooms for each agegroup, separate baby and toddler sleeping rooms. 'Magic room' (named by the children for the children), decor designed by students from Limerick College of Art - central playroom.

Located within 100 yds of Conference Centre.

Babies from 3 months, toddlers, pre-school, after-school children up to 12 years.

Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner provided.

Activities

For the week of the ICSE conference, after-school children will have games in the sports hall Monday and Wednesday 4-5pm, and swimming in the University of Limerick Swimming Pool.
