ICSE2000: Window on the World - Issue 1

Welcome, one and all, to ICSE 2000, the 22nd International Conference on Software Engineering! As the Chair of the IEEE Computer Society's Technical Council on Software Engineering (TCSE), I'm glad that you're joining us in beautiful Limerick to meet with your colleagues at this major annual conference and the related events. TCSE is proud to be a cosponsor of the ICSE series and especially proud of the programs available to you this year.

We should all give a hearty thanks to Carlo Ghezzi, Mehdi Jazayeri, Alexander Wolf, Bashar Nuseibeh, Hans-Jurgen Kugler, Michael Young, Kevin Ryan, the various committees, and the many others who have contributed to the breadth and depth of this week's events. Please be sure to attend the Awards Session today (Wednesday) at 2:15 pm when the second Harlan D. Mills Practical Visionary Prize will be awarded to an outstanding member of our community.
