Thank Your Student Volunteers

By WOW

If you haven’t already, please express your thanks today to at least one of the 20-some student volunteers (the ones in ICSE 2000 T-shirts) who have been guiding you, handing out WOWs, assisting speakers, and performing a tremendous number of behind-the-scenes chores all week. You probably also saw Ita Richardson running around coordinating the students (among her other activities). She deserves a round of applause for getting us all to lunch and the different venues on time. The student volunteers are CS and SE students, mostly from universities all over Ireland (~half U. Limerick) but about 7 from other nations, and for many this is their first introduction to professional activities in our field. WOW knows they all worked hard, but we hope they also had the stamina to attend sufficient technical sessions to taste the true flavor of SIGSOFT and TCSE. Welcome them; read a badge and thank them by name — they are our future!

Many Thanks from the Editors, Hal & Jon
