Many Thanks from the Editors Hal & JonTeamwork! It is impossible to thank everyone who supported or contributed to WOW — but we’ll at least generically mention Kevin Ryan and his fine crew of local organisers, including the students, and our entire staff and many contributors. Four helpers deserve special mention: Will Tracz, previous WOW editor and my mentor for this job, who couldn’t let go and was with us at every step this year; Super Student volunteer Colin Paul Gloster, who combined all the other student duties around the conference with 12 hours daily working WOW; U. Limerick’s Mikael Fernström who provided all the technology we needed plus articles plus photos, and a never failing can do attitude that made him a pleasure to work with; and perhaps Hal’s longest-time friend here (and my former Navy customer in the 80’s!), Tricia Oberndorf, who many times in the past 5 days helped keep Hal on the "correct" side of the road both literally and figuratively. We two (Jon and Hal) had not met before this week, but we easily fell into a division of responsibility with Jon’s content mining skill (why do you think these are the largest WOWs ever?) fitting with Hal’s relish to master MS Publisher and night owlism (a requirement for production editor!) (I really needed a person like that! — JEC). That, plus our easy willingness to trade off, made this a gratifying experience for us and, we hope, our whole staff. See you all next year at ICSE 2001 in Toronto.
