Relevant terms defined


Vegetarian: A person who doesn't eat the flesh of animals, birds or fish.

Lacto-Vegetarian: A person who doesn't eat the flesh of animals, birds or fish, but who consumes dairy products.

Ovo-lacto-vegetarian: A person who doesn't eat the flesh of animals, birds or fish, but who consumes eggs and dairy products.

Vegan: A person who doesn't consume or use any animal products. This means not eating the flesh of animals, birds or fish, not consuming dairy products and eggs, and not using animal products such as leather, wool, silk and feathers.

Epidemiologist: One who studies the relationships of the various factors determining the frequency and distribution of diseases in a human community.

Nutrition: The scientific study of food and the processes by which it it digested and assimilated.

Carnivore: An animal, including some humans, who feeds on flesh.
