Highlights from Previous Years & previous conductors

One of the most significant concerts to date was the performance of Vivaldi’s Gloria for the opening of the Concert Hall in 1993.

Every Easter, the U. L. Choir, Mary Immaculate College Choir and the Limerick Baroque Players give a joint concert. Previous concerts have included performances of:

  • Bach’s Cantatas, in St. Michael’s Church, with the Mary Immaculate College Choir and the Limerick Baroque Players
  • Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater in St. Mary’s Cathedral, Easter 1999, with the Mary Immaculate College Choir and the Limerick Baroque Players
  • Acis and Galilea with the Mary Immaculate College Choir and the Limerick Baroque Players
  • Mendelssohn's Elijah with the Mary Immaculate College Choir and the Limerick Baroque Players
  • At Christmas, the Choir give a lunchtime concert in the Performing Arts Centre in UL. Admission to the concerts is free but the occasion is used to fundraise for Hope and Homes for Children.
  • Other Christmas concerts included performances of polyphonic renaissance works in the magnificent acoustic church of Glenstal Abbey in conjunction with the Monks of Glenstal Abbey and the Glenstal Abbey School Choir. The 2000 concert was recorded by RTE.

A new departure for the choir in 2001 was to sing in the musical Chess as the backing choir.
